Historically, Bihar hosted powerful empires like the Magadha and Maurya; its landscape features landmarks such as Nalanda and Vikramshila, two of the oldest universities, the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya where Buddha attained enlightenment, the ancient Barabar Caves, and the Sher Shah Suri Tomb known for its Indo-Islamic architecture. Artistically, Bihar is known for Madhubani paintings, Sikki grass crafts, Manjusha art, and stone and wood crafts, particularly noted in Patliputra. Arrival in Patna
Reception upon Arrival at Patna, the ancient Pataliputra. Afternoon visit to the Bihar Museum for a world-class overview of the state's history and the famous Didarganj Yakshi. Evening walk at Gandhi Ghat to witness the Ganga Aarti.
Patna – The Capital Heritage
Visit Golghar, the beehive-shaped granary, and the Patna Museum. Explore Takht Sri Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, and the nearby Qila House (Jalan Museum) for its private collection of antiques.
Patna – Maner Sharif – Vaishali
Morning drive to Maner Sharif to see the Mughal architectural gems, Choti Dargah and Bari Dargah. Proceed to Vaishali, the world's first republic and a sacred site for both Buddhists and Jains. Visit the Ashoka Pillar, Vishwa Shanti Stupa, and Abhishek Pushkarini.
Vaishali – Kesariya – Bettiah
Visit the Kesariya Stupa, one of the tallest Buddhist stupas in the world. Proceed to Bettiah (West Champaran) to begin the "Gandhi Circuit."

Visit the Ajgaibinath Temple in Sultanganj, built on a rock in the middle of the Ganges. Continue to Begusarai to visit Kanwar Lake, Asia's largest freshwater oxbow lake (a Ramsar site).
Begusarai – Barabar Caves – Gaya
A long drive south. Stop at the Barabar Caves (Jehanabad), the oldest surviving rock-cut caves in India (3rd Century BCE), featuring highly polished interiors and Ashokan inscriptions.
Bodh Gaya – The Center of the World
