About This Experience
Bhubaneswar, known as the 'Temple City of India,' is a center of Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain heritage. Although it is the modern capital of Odisha, its spiritual center is in the Old Town, which features numerous ancient sandstone structures. Historically referred to as Ekamra Kshetra or the Mango Forest, Bhubaneswar was once home to over 700 temples near the sacred Bindu Sagar Lake. For 29 years, Sanatan has provided this Heritage Walk beginning at Mukteshwar Temple at 6:30 AM, covering Mukteshwar, Parasureswar, Swarna Jaleswar, Kotitirtheswar, Sampurna Jaleswar, Bindu Sagar, Ancient Dharmasala, the famous Lingaraj Temple, Sari Deul, Herbal Garden, and ending at Vaital Temple. The walk lasts about 2.5 hours, ending at 9:00 AM.
