Exploring Madhya Pradesh and the Bastar region offers an opportunity to experience historical architecture, diverse nature, and ancient tribal arts. In Madhya Pradesh, notable sites include Orchha, known for Jahangir Mahal and its cenotaphs along the Betwa River, and Mandu, featuring the Jahaz Mahal and Rupmati's Pavilion with Afghan architecture. The Gwalior Fort, known as the "Gibraltar of India," houses the Man Singh Palace and Jain statues. The Bastar Palace in Jagdalpur showcases intricate carvings of the Bhanj Deo royal family. The regions' natural features include dramatic landscapes such as the Chitrakote Falls in Bastar, the Tirathgarh Falls, and Kanger Valley National Park, home to the Kutumsar Caves. In Madhya Pradesh, Pachmarhi offers greenery, ancient caves, and viewpoints, while Bandhavgarh and Kanha are key national parks for tiger sightings. Madhya Pradesh is known for Chanderi and Maheshwari sarees and Bagh prints. Bastar is famous for Dhokra metalwork, wrought iron art, and terracotta.

Gwalior – Datia – Orchha
Drive to Orchha (120 km) with a stop at Datia to see the seven-story Bir Singh Deo Palace. Evening witness the Ram Raja Temple Aarti in Orchha. Overnight.
Orchha Exploration
Full day exploring the Jahangir Mahal, Raja Mahal, and the atmospheric riverside cenotaphs (Chhatris). Overnight.
Orchha to Khajuraho
Drive to Khajuraho (175 km). Evening attend the Sound and Light show at the Western Group of Temples. Overnight.
Khajuraho Temples
Full day dedicated to the UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its intricate Nagara-style architecture and erotic carvings. Overnight.
Khajuraho to Bandhavgarh
Drive to Bandhavgarh (230 km, ~5 hours). This park has one of the highest densities of Royal Bengal Tigers in India. Overnight.
Bandhavgarh Safaris
Morning and afternoon jeep safaris. Visit the ancient Bandhavgarh Fort ruins if accessible. Overnight.
Bandhavgarh to Dindori
Drive into the Maikal Hills (150 km). This area is the heartland of the Baiga (known for their extensive tattoos) and Gond tribes. Overnight in a local eco-retreat.
Dindori & Patangarh Village
Visit Patangarh, a village famous for 'Gond Art.' Meet local artists who have turned traditional wall paintings into globally recognized canvas art. Overnight.
Dindori to Jabalpur
Drive to Jabalpur (150 km). Afternoon visit to Bhedaghat to see the Marble Rocks and the Dhuandhar Falls on the Narmada River. Overnight.
Jabalpur to Kanha National Park
Drive to Kanha (165 km). Kanha is the setting for Kipling's The Jungle Book and is famous for the Barasingha (Swamp Deer). Overnight.

Morning safari in the Mukki or Kanha zone. Afternoon exploring surrounding local villages. Overnight.
Kanha to Bhoramdev
Cross into Chhattisgarh (120 km). Visit the Bhoramdev Temple, often called the 'Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh,' set against the backdrop of the Maikal Mountains. Overnight.
Bhoramdev to Ramnami Village
Proceed to Ramnami villages near Bilaspur to meet the Ramnami Community, known for tattooing the name of 'Ram' across their entire bodies as an act of devotion. Overnight.

Bastar Tribal Markets
Visit a local 'Haat' (weekly market), such as the Tokapal or Lohandiguda market where various tribal groups gather to trade. This is the best way to see the authentic lifestyle of the Dhurwa and Maria tribes.
Jagdalpur to Visakhapatnam
A scenic drive (300 km / 7-8 hours) through the Eastern Ghats, descending from the plateau to the coast. Overnight.
